POKEGUIDE
A publishing platform that ranks
The brief
Pokeguide needed a blog platform with real editorial roles: authors submit, editors review, and the public side has to be fast, indexable and pleasant on a phone.
It also had to authenticate readers safely without building a login system from scratch.
The approach
Built with Next.js and Expo: a role-based admin dashboard for authors and editors, JWT plus Google and GitHub OAuth on the end-user side, and static generation with incremental regeneration so the archive stayed fast as it grew.
The submission and review flow was shaped around the editors' queue rather than a generic CMS: what is waiting, what came back, what is scheduled.
The outcome
The platform reached a 95% Lighthouse performance score for SEO, with article submission and review workflows in production.
It is the project that taught me how much of product engineering is really editorial design — what the person in front of the screen needs to decide next.
Editorial workflow, role-based admin and a reader app — built for SEO, because a content business lives or dies on being found.
